The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, declared 2025 as the "Year of Working Professions," marking an important step for the economic and social development of the country. Working professions play a crucial role, as they directly influence economic growth, reduce unemployment, and drive progress in the industrial and technical sectors.
Supporting this initiative, Samruk-Green Energy LLP held a meeting on September 18, 2025, with students of the D.A. Kunaev Secondary School. The event took place at the 2 MW Solar Power Plant in the city of Konaev. The lecturer, Mr. Zhakitov M.S., Head of the Plant, shared his knowledge and practical experience in the field of renewable energy.
Why is renewable energy not only the future, but also the present?
The world is gradually moving away from coal, oil, and gas. Humanity seeks sustainable, safe, and environmentally friendly sources of energy. Kazakhstan is no exception — dozens of solar and wind power plants are already in operation, with new projects under construction.
However, no power plant can operate without skilled professionals. Solar power plants require not only engineers and managers but also highly demanded working professions: electricians to maintain panels, cables, and distribution systems, as well as specialists in installation, maintenance, and repair of energy equipment.
These are professions of the future that can be pursued after college or university. More importantly, they are tied to a vital mission — developing "green" energy and ensuring the country’s energy security.
What can be done today? Study, show interest in technology, do not be afraid of physics and mathematics, and ask questions. Industry representatives are ready to support schoolchildren, share experience, organize plant tours, and provide career guidance.
Working professions are not of the past — they are professions of tomorrow. They provide stability, confidence in the future, and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of Kazakhstan.
