On 16 September 2015, representatives of «Samruk-Green Energy» LLP with management of the American company «Primus Power» represented by Tom Stepien and R. Rakymbay visited 2 MW Solar Power Plant in Kapshagay.

«Primus Power» is the leader producer company of energy storage technologies specifically innovation flow energy storage system, called the EnergyPod. The EnergyPod has 20 years duration of the continual loop operation which is its main advantage over other technologies.

Under the Agreement on Strategic Partnership between «Samruk- Energy» JSC and the «Primus Power» territory of the 2 MW SPP in Kapshagay is planned to be a pilot site to test the EnergyPod.

In the course of work experts chose the EnergyPod install location and version of its integration. Procurement of the energy storage system with a power of 20 kW and with a capacity of 72 kWh is expected at the end of December this year. At present, domestic photovoltaic modules of Astana-Solar LLP with a total power of 3,68 kW have already been tested on 2 MW SPP in Kapshagay.
