June 11, 2015 during the Russian delegation's working visit to Kapshagay city, the delegation from Volokolamsk city, Moscow region which is a sister city of Kapshagay visited the 2 MW Solar Power Station (SPS). In order to familiarize with the work of 2 MW SPS a station tour was conducted. Representatives of Volokolamsk administration actively interested in the Kazakhstan legislation in the field of renewable energy sources, the number of sunny days a year, the electricity tariffs from renewable energy sources. Mayor of Kapshagai city S.Kikimov told about the technical and economic characteristics of the 2 MW SPS, General Director of «Samruk-Green Energy» LLP Zh.Mominbaev reported operational situation at the station. The Kazakh side also shared plans for the project to build a 50 MW SPS with the prospect of expanding to 100 MW near Kapshagai city using photovoltaic modules of Kazakhstani manufacturer "Astana Solar".
