Projects within the framework of Intergovernmental Agreement
During the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to China 15-19 April 2009, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao proposed to put on gratis experimental batch of solar panels and wind turbines in Kazakhstan. For the implementation of these agreements, Department of Foreign Aid of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China has been defined as the responsible authority from the Chinese side. "Samruk-Energy" JSC was determined as an operator on this project from the Kazakhstan side. The controller for the implementation of this project is chosen “Samruk-Energy” JSC. As part of the agreements, "Samruk-Energy" JSC conducted negotiations with representatives of the Department of Foreign Aid of the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China composed of Chinese Design Institute Hydrochina Zhongnan Engineering Corporation from 22.04.2010 until 27.04.2010 in Almaty, on which "Samruk-Energy" JSC proposed to implement two pilot projects:
- Construction of 1 MW capacity solar power plant in the "Park of information technologies" in a town Alatau in Almaty;
- Construction of 5 MW capacity wind farm in Chelek corridor.
Tentative dates of projects realization are 2012-2013.
